Law and Order has been on our screens for over two decades and has one of the most memorable casts of all time. Alongside the beloved characters that appear season in and season out, a lot of well known Hollywood actors, singers and even rappers have cameoed in the long standing show. Here are 30 famous faces you forgot appeared in Law and Order:

Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland A young hyland played Jennifer Banks on the Season 3 premier of Law and Order. The episode was called Hothouse  and Sarah’s character was a suspect in the murder of her roommate.

Bradley Cooper

Bradley Cooper Hollywood heartthrob Bradley Cooper appeared on Episode 20 of Season 6 of Law and Order. Cooper played an estate lawyer named Jason Whitaker in 2005.  His character was the defence attorney for a man accused of being a serial rapist.

Kate Mara

Kate Mara In 2001 a young Kate Mara appeared in Season 2, Episode 9 of the show. The episode is called Pixies and Kate plays a young gymnast called Lori who ends up getting murdered.

Amanda Seyfried

Amanda Seyfried Back in 2004, Amanda Seyfried appeared in Season 6, Episode 5 of Law and Order. The young actress played a student who was raped.

Ian Somerhalder

Ian Somerhalder Long before he starred in The Vampire Diaries, Ian Somerhalder appeared in Law and Order. He played a character called Charlie Baker who was a murderer, rapist and kidnapper.

Abigail Breslin Little Miss Sunshine herself, Abigail Breslin, appeared in the hit show at just 8-years-old. Breslin was in the premier episode of season 6, playing 6-year-old Patty Branson, a 6-year-old who was abducted in Central Park.

John Stamos

John Stamos Stamos played a big shot attorney and “reproductive abuser”, called Ken Turner, in season 12.

Miranda Lambert

Miranda Lambert It’s not just actors who appear as guest stars. Miranda Lambert’s sole acting credit was actually on an episode of Law & Order. The country beau appeared on Season 13 in 2012 – she played a rape victim named Lacey Ford.

Cynthia Nixon A few years  after finishing her iconic role as Miranda Hobbes on Sex and the City, Cynthia appeared on a 2007 episode of the crime show. She played a character called Janis Donovan, a woman with Dissociative Identity Disorder who was accused of harming her daughter but not found guilty due to her mental disability.

Mischa Barton In 2010, after a successful stint on The O.C, Mischa made a one episode appearance on Season 11 of Law and Order. She played Gladys Dalton, a former prostitute who left Olivia Benson in charge of her premature baby.

Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson Is there any TV show or movie that Mike Tyson hasn’t cameoed in? He appeared in a season 14 episode and played Reggie Rhodes, a convicted murdered  and death row inmate.

Scott Foley

Scott Foley Before landing the role of Jake Ballard on Scandal, Scott Foley played Dalton Rindell – a man who wakes up on a blood covered apartment with a dead woman in his bed.

Keke Palmer

Keke Palmer At just 12-years-old, Keke Palmer played Tasha Wright in Season 7. In the episode, Tasha loses her whole family during Hurricane Katrina and finds herself in New York City.


Ludacris The rapper has appeared on the show not once, but twice. Both times Ludacris played Darius Parker, a relative of Odafin Tutuola. Darius ends up being a bad guy, who murdered a woman  and her infant son because he believed the woman to be a bad mother.

Elle Fanning

Elle Fanning The young actress made her Law and Order debut on Episode 8 of season 8. Elle plays a foster child who was found in a van driven into the river.

Ty Burrell

Ty Burrell Way before he took the role of Phil Dunphy in Modern Family's,  Ty Burrell played Alan Messinger in an episode titled Execution.  It told the story of a man about to be put to death.

Julie Bowen

Julie Bowen Like her on-screen husband on Modern Family, Julie Bowen also appeared in the show. Julie played Gwen Sibert in 2008, during Law and Order’s tenth season.

Hilary Duff

Hilary Duff Back in 2009, the Disney star appeared in season 10, episode 9 as Ashlee Walker – an irresponsible mother whose daughter dies.

James Van Der Beek

James Van Der Beek The actor played Sean Albert, a sexual predator, in Season 13. The particularly disturbing episode chronicled Sean’s quest to rape girls who’d been conceived with the sperm of his rival.

Elizabeth Banks

Elizabeth Banks Way back in 2001, the actress popped up on season 3, on an episode titled Sacrifice. Elizabeth played Jaina Jansen, a wife of a sexual assault victim who killer her own boss, but claimed it was self-defence.

Serena Williams The tennis ace made a guest appearance back in 2004. Serena made her cameo in season 5, episode 12 playing the role of Chloe Spiers during a show about fraternity.

Jennette McCurdy Jennette made her debut when she was 12, during the shows sixth season. She played Holly Purcell, a 9-year-old who survived a car accident and was raped.

Dave Navarro

Dave Navarro Dave Navarro appeared on the show in 2013. He played Mr. Ferrari in a show that told a story of a pop star being beaten by her boyfriend.

Brittany Snow In 2006, Snow made her debut in season 7. She played Jamie Hoskins, a 16-year-old who was a suspect in the death of a former student.

Coco Austin Coco actually appeared in the same episode as her husband, Ice-T. She played Traci Bell in the episode, titled Fight which focused around two brothers connected with a murder investigation.
